This super cosy quilt went off to its forever home

This super cosy quilt went off to its forever home a little while ago...the sun never came out for the photo shoot 🤦🏽‍♀️. Made using the customer's fabric, the material was heavier than quilting cotton so it was a cosy quilt. At 78" long I had to get my tall husband to hold it up for the photos 😄. Backed with #makoweruk spray time cotton in Christmas Red.

So taking advantage of a quiet house by getting some extra yoga in didn't quite work...every time I got down on the mat Coco would either lie down on me, next to me, or paw at me to see what I was doing 😄. At one point he rolled off the sofa onto my head, and he's not light!! Life with a cocker spaniel, you never get time to yourself 🤷🏽‍♀️💜😊

My husband was going to throw out his very old, pure wool jumper as the shape had gone. Never one to let perfectly good fabric go to waste I rescued it and made a super cosy large cushion 😊. I did have plans for the sleeves but he got to them before me 🤨🤭.

Back to my crafting (and heritage) roots! I bought my first lot of wooden Indian printing blocks when visiting family in India nearly 20yrs ago, and got hooked into block printing. When I was asked to make three thank you cushions at short notice it had to be block printed cushions. The request for a hedgehog had me stumped, as all my blocks are traditional Indian designs, but I found #theindianblockprintco and they had the perfect one! 🦔🦔🥰.

The customer asked for a replica security blanket to replace a much-loved but damaged one. So after 42, 2" hexagons and over 100 Y-seams later this quilted security blanket was completed...and she was very happy with the outcome 😊.
If you're not confident with Y-seams then sit down with a pile of hexagons and get stitching, I guarantee you'll be friends after 😄 and you'll realise how easy they are 👍🏽.

I made these two bookmarks on the spur of the moment for my two little people, using leftover fabric and ribbons. I'm quite pleased with how they turned out! The letters were made using glitter film from @tudorrosepatchwork ... it was really easy to use and looks great. Might see a few more of these in 2024! 😄
