About The Peacock Lotus
Since I was a little girl I have loved sewing, with some of my earliest memories of making a Victorian pin cushion in primary school, and making dresses for my toy ponies. I have always loved making handmade gifts for friends and family and so, about 10 years ago, I decided to expand my hobby. I started making patchwork cushions and handbags and would sell these at regional craft fairs and through local craft shops. Over the years as well as working full-time, and becoming a mother to now two toddlers, I also started making baby and memory quilts for my children as well as for family and friends. I discovered a real passion for patchwork quilts and gifts and I have never looked back! What started as a hobby over 10 years ago has gradually grown into an online business where I have decided to make quilting the focus.
I am a self-taught quilter through books, online tutorials, and by attending workshops. I love fabrics so will seek out the best quality fabric and designs for my quilts. I recently completed my first quilt pattern (Over and Under), and hope to create some more. I create my quilts using a ‘longarm quilting frame’ to help finish my quilts to the highest standards.
